(This Could Be Your Next Guitar)To give you an idea about what is possible on a custom, handmade guitar, here are some ideas that might work for you. Any combination of shown woods or parts is possible, but of course depending on availability.
This could be an ES-350 T style guitar with the best of everything; fifties Gibson tailpiece, aged Kluson waffleback tuners, carved bearclaw Sitka spruce top, laminated maple back, your choice of pickup(s), natural (like Chuck Berry's ?) or sunburst, and your choice of string length like original short Byrdland like scale, or 24 3/4 inch , 25 (PRS) or 25,5 L5 style length...... The road to perfection; wonderful patina 50 year old tailpiece, aged Kluson wafflebacks; the looks and the vibe, but not the tuning problems ! Match this with an aged bridge ( no sagging, no overcut worn saddle notches) and it is a combination that will bring you to tone heaven.
Genuine Gibson Custom Shop Citation or acoustic L-5 / Super 400 guard, in their best "mottled" early 60's-style material. Geometric mod patterns are ultra hip. Their best quality stunning looks and impossible to get. Factory route for a floating pickup (Johnny Smith style) or can be enlarged for humbucker.
