sneak preview................
The best wishes from Daniel Slaman Guitars, be sure to check the site in the new year; on January 5, 2009 a new spectacular model will be introduced! Yes, it's claro walnut and a cedar top, but that's all I am going to give away now.........................
The Vintage Tailpiece Collection features tailpieces that are available for your next guitar. They are priced individually and will add the price of the tailpiece to the guitar. Please note that these are not for sale without a commissioned guitar ! All tailpieces are original items and in perfect working condition.

The new year will start with a 5 % overall price increase; this reflects a rise in cost of materials and hours spent on a guitar, as well as new shipping policy; from now on guitars will only be sent by courier protected in a wooden box instead of heavy cardboard boxes. I have to make the box myself so there's more time involved, but you will thank me for it when you receive the guitar unharmed, undamaged. Believe me, it is worth the extra effort.
Better still if you would come visit me and pick up your guitar yourself (and collect a 150 bonus because I don't have to make a box......)The new Price List will be effective as of Januari 1, 2009. Till then, orders received in 2008 will be delivered at 2008 price level.

Just recently in the 30th Anniversary year I received this e-mail:
In 1979 Daniel Slaman sold me a freshly built classical guitar (the label mentions Daniel Anthonie Slaman, Gouda, 1978). I still play this guitar (it still sounds fine, although there may be a few minor things that require mending ). Without knowing what to expect I googled Daniels name recently, and I was surprised and impressed by the site and the shop; fantastic! Its just that I think the first classical guitar he built must have been prior to 1979, since it must have been there before mine.
I was studying in Amsterdam at the time, where I met Daniel and listened with awe to his playing a self-built instrument. It prompted me to ask him if he would be interested to make me one, which he did.
An amateur musician, I consider my Slaman guitar to have been a very special friend and companion for the last 30 years. I have received many compliments for its fine sound and colour of tone, and who am I to disagree?

Thanks, Tom !

After enjoying a well deserved holiday, new exciting projects are started which will introduce two new Slaman models in the beginning of the next year. My holiday was spent in Switzerland, where I visited the Glacier Garden in Luzern, or you might also call it the Ice Age Museum; more inspiration for Ice Age Jazz guitars !

Mr. Ivan Hill is selling his prototype 1923 model, the first one made by Daniel Slaman. It's superfluous to his needs, and mr. Hill would like it to come to better use as he is playing more piano these days. He has just had the prototype L5 1923 guitar serviced and it's sounding very good.
